The Busan Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration announced on the 26th that it held the 2022 "Global Small and Medium Business Designation Ceremony" at Lotte Hotel's Charlotte Room in Seomyeon.

"Global Small and Medium Business" is a system to designate export small and medium-sized enterprises jointly promoted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, local governments, and local related organizations to foster small and medium-sized export companies with innovation and growth potential.

This year, promising export companies with high sales and export performance applied to global small and medium-sized companies even in difficult situations due to COVID-19. The final 14 companies were selected after on-site and presentation evaluation by region.

Designated companies in Busan are Samwon Act Co., Ltd., Taesang Co., Ltd., Sambo Industrial Co., Ltd., SJE Co., Ltd., Samwoo MCP Co., Ltd., Geumsu Connecting Co., Ltd., HB Corporation Co., Ltd., Koval Co., Ltd., Korea Co., Ltd., Kukdong Industrial Co., Ltd., DJF, and Dongkwang Trading Co., Ltd.

In particular, the average sales of 14 newly designated companies this year were 23 billion won, the average exports were 9 million dollars, and the average export ratio to sales was about 48%.

As 14 companies were designated this year, the number of global small and medium-sized companies (the designated validity period of four years) in Busan increased to 57. Since 2014, the first year of designation, the cumulative number of designated companies has reached 118.

Choi Won-young, head of the Busan Small and Medium Business Administration, said, "Busan's export performance in 2021 has increased significantly thanks to the efforts of small and medium-sized export companies, including companies that received the global small and medium-sized company designation today."
